New Delhi: Indian Olympic Affiliation (IOA) on Tuesday determined to drop Chinese language sportswear Li Ning as its official package sponsor for the Olympics and determined that the nation’s athletes will put on unbranded attire in the course of the Tokyo Video games scheduled to be held from 23 July to eight August.

The IOA had unveiled the Olympic package designed by Li Ning for the Tokyo Video games final week, which led to criticism. It has been learnt that the Sports activities Ministry then suggested IOA to not embody a Chinese language sponsor for the Video games.

“We’re conscious of the feelings of our followers and we in a IOA have determined that we are going to withdraw from our current contract with an attire sponsor,” IOA president Narinder Batra and secretary common Rajeev Mehta stated in an announcement.
